  • Is Fasting Safe for You To Do?

Have you ever known of someone that has died as a result of a few weeks of intentional fasting? Although there have been individuals who, for political or other reasons, have died from going too far, a safe and reasonable fast can be and often is healthy. Many religions have taught the spiritual benefits of fasting but science has shown that there are clearly health benefits too. The philosophers of old taught that there was a gift found in fasting and that good health flowed from it. What is most important is to become educated on the proper methods of fasting and of the possible negative consequences too.

There are different types of fasting; abstaining from food and / or water for a very short period of time, a prolonged fast of food only or a juice / liquid fast.

Doctors require fasting prior to blood work and some lab tests.  Why? This removes the blood of any excess cholesterol and / or triglycerides and reduces blood sugar which are necessary steps to get good results (not associated with eating) on your lab tests.

In this article I wish to discuss a liquid or juice fast. After juice fasting, you should feel stronger and more revitalized, your health may improve, your physical and mental capacities should improve and you just might look and feel younger than before.

Many people juice fast one day/week as a way to cleanse, stay healthy and maintain weight loss or normal weight. What a wonderful way to start out the week!
